ImpactIt was a bitter sweet night for Hayes who failed to score in the sixth round of the shootout leading to the loss. Hayes has a strong track record of success in the minors but has not yet been able to translate it into any success at the NHL level. Of course, until he was traded to Florida, he had limited opportunities with the powerful Blackhawks. It remains to be seen if Hayes will fare any better with the Cats. Watch him.

ImpactHayes was the key piece in a trade involving the Panthers and Blackhawks early Friday morning and arrived in time to play with nis new teammates against the Wild. The coaching staff however, felt it was best for Hayes to sit the game out. There is now word on whether Hayes will suit up in Colorado Saturday night. Our feeling is, he will. That said, we have not been impressed with Hayes in his limited time with the Hawks. Perhaps that will change if he gets more meaningful itce time in Florida.
