Washington has obtained Nicolas Deschamps in a minor-league deal with Toronto for defenseman Kevin Marshall.

Impact

Deschamps has seven goals and 16 points in 50 games with Toronto's AHL affiliate this year. He was great during their playoff run to the Calder Cup Finals last season, but hasn't been much of an offensive force in the AHL outside of that instance. Deschamps hasn't played an NHL game yet after being selected 35th overall in the 2008 draft by Anaheim. He's likely to head straight to Hershey.
