Buffalo signs Zac Dalpe to one-year contract | 07/13/2014 8:10 PM
NewsThe Buffalo Sabres have signed forward Zac Dalpe to a one-year contract.
ImpactThe Sabres have not yet disclosed whether it's a one-year or two-year deal. As James O'Brien points out at prohockeytalk.com, it makes a difference, the one- or two-way detail could be important because the general feeling is that Dalpe isn't exactly a shoo-in for a roster spot. The Olean Times Herald's Bill Hoppe believes that the 24-year-old will fight for a fourth-line forward spot.

NewsZac Dalpe will skate on Vancouver's top line again Monday night.
ImpactHe will stay with Henrik and Daniel Sedin after he scored in the team's 2-1 win over St. Louis on Friday. "It could be a short leash, but at the same time I am going to try and take advantage of it," Dalpe said. "I'm not going to change up my game and think I am a super-skilled guy now that I play with the Sedins. I am going to do what I do, shoot the puck, and hopefully play well with them." He has two goals and two assists in 29 games this season.

NewsZac Dalpe scored a goal in Vancouver's 2-1 win over St. Louis Friday evening.
ImpactDalpe played in the first line with Daniel and Henrik Sedin and he scored his second goal of the season. Zac Dalpe shipped to Canucks in trade | 09/29/2013 12:41 AM
NewsZac Dalpe is heading to Vancouver along with Jeremy Walsh in the deal that sent Kellan Tochkin and a fourth-rounder to the Hurricanes.
ImpactTurning 24 in November, Dalpe has been a bit of a disappointment since being taken in the second round of the 2008 draft as he has just 41 games in the NHL and 10 points to show for it. It's not a bad gamble for the Canucks organization, but that doesn't mean fantasy owners need to put him on their radar anytime soon.

NewsZac Dalpe has been recalled from Charlotte of the AHL and is participating in the Hurricanes' shortened training camp this week.
ImpactDalpe didn't exactly lit it up in the AHL during the lockout but he should still develop into a solid NHL player in time. Dalpe has stuck around with the Hurricanes out of training camp each of the last two years, but he ended up playing only 31 NHL games combined over that time. He is on the final year of his entry-level deal and wants to prove himself ready for full-time NHL duty.
