Bouma then scored to cut the lead again with about 14 minutes remaining, but they couldn't find the game-tying score. Bouma has 13 goals and 15 assists with a plus-13 rating this season.

ImpactBouma is third among NHL forwards with 64 blocked shots, trailing only Boyd Gordon who has 77, and the outstanding Ryan Getzlaf who sits at 71. "Lance was great at the two ends," coach Bob Hartley said. "Lots of blocked shots defensively and offensively, he had quite a few chances. As many chances as he's going to get, that's how he's going to improve offensively and find a way to get us some big goals." Bouma has five goals and 12 points this season with 37 penalty minutes in 60 games.

Still, Flames coach Bob Hartley rose to Bouma's defense after the contest. "Lance works so hard and is such a great young man to work with that we all felt badly," Hartley said.
