|Assets:||Has tremendous size and the ability to play the enforcer role, especially at lower levels. Can be an effective force along the boards, as well. Likes to intimidate opponents.|
|Flaws:||Can at times play well over the edge, which can limit his ice time (especially at the highest level) if his penalties hurt his own club. Doesn't have great skating or puck skills.|
|Career Potential:||Part-time heavyweight enforcer.|

Joel Rechlicz unlikely hero in shootout | 09/17/2013 10:44 AM
NewsJoel Rechlicz was an unusual choice as the Capitals' fourth shooter in Washington's 4-3 shootout victory over Philadelphia.
ImpactRechlicz has no goals, one assist, and 105 penalty minutes in 26 career NHL games. "He's an unsung hero," Capitals coach Adam Oates said. "All you ever hear is that he's a great guy. He fights for his teammates all the time. I love that he scored but there aren't a lot of times you get to thank a guy. I asked him if he's any good at breakaways. He said, 'Yeah,' and I said, 'You're up.' He didn't even bat an eye. It's like he expected it. And when he scored it was like it was no big deal." Rechlicz told the story a little different, saying that he was "kind of in shock" after being picked by Oates. Either way, don't count on Rechlicz doing much offensively in 2013-14.
