|Assets:||His big point shot can be a major weapon on the power play. Moves the puck efficiently out of danger. Brings a nice combination of size and speed to the rink. Works hard and is effective on the penalty kill. Plays a safe, mature and steady brand of defense.|
|Flaws:||Doesn't shy away from the physical game, but he isn't a highly aggressive player defensively--despite excellent size--either. He's strong, but needs to continue adding some more power to his game. Has been somewhat injury-prone in the past.|
|Career Potential:||Solid puck-moving defenseman with a big shot.|

Jason Garrison scores power play goal in loss | 04/26/2013 1:36 AM
NewsJason Garrison scored his eighth goal of the season in the Canucks 3-1 loss to the Anaheim Ducks.
ImpactGarrison has had a rough season until April. In Garrison's first 35 games, he had eight points, but in the past 12 games he has matched that. Garrison is capable of decent production thanks to his point shot but there are more talented options to consider come playoff time. If you're in a draft format in your playoff pools, then he is someone to keep your eye on.
Jason Garrison nets 6th goal in loss to Avs | 04/13/2013 5:38 PM
NewsJason Garrison registered his sixth goal in Vancouver's 4-3 loss to Colorado Saturday afternoon.
ImpactHe gave the Canucks a 3-2 lead early in the third period, but the Avalanche stormed back late in the final frame to win the contest. Garrison has 13 points and a plus-15 rating in 41 games this campaign. Maxim Lapierre and Jannik Hansen had Vancouver's other markers in the loss, while Alexander Edler, Ryan Kesler, Henrik Sedin and Daniel Sedin got on the board with an assist each.
D Jason Garrison answers Canucks' need | 03/30/2013 12:49 PM
NewsJason Garrison has answered the Vancouver Canucks' need for a right-side defenseman.
ImpactEven though Garrison is a left-handed shot and has played mostly as a left-side blueliner, the Canucks switched him over to the right side and coach Alain Vigneault says he's been a blessing. "Jason has been really, really, really efficient," stated Vigneault said Friday. "For someone who originally had some reserve about playing the right side, he hasn't been awkward at all as far as turning and going back for pucks and finding the outlet pass. He's been really good."
Jason Garrison scores on PP in win Sunday | 03/25/2013 12:00 AM
NewsJason Garrison registered a power play goal in the Canucks' 3-2 win over Colorado Sunday.
ImpactGarrison's fantasy owners have been clamoring for him to be given an opportunity on Vancouver's top unit with the man advantage and that finally happened tonight, with good results. The suspension being served by Alexander Edler may have something to do with Garrison's new role, but we'll take it nonetheless. Alex Burrows and Mason Raymond also found the back of the net for Vancouver in the win.
Jason Garrison tallies 4th in win over CBJ | 03/12/2013 10:21 PM
NewsJason Garrison scored his fourth goal in Vancouver's 2-1 shootout win over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday night.
ImpactThe Canucks defenseman hasn't provided his new squad with much bang for their buck after inking a six-year/$27.6 million deal last summer. Garrison has six points and 42 shots in 25 games.
Garrison nets home a goal in Vancouver win | 02/27/2013 2:17 AM
NewsJason Garrison recorded his third goal of the year in Vancouver's 4-2 loss to Phoenix on Tuesday.
ImpactGarrison received a heavy workload on Tuesday, as the Canucks were missing Kevin Bieksa on the blueline. Garrison responded with five shots on goal in over 21 minutes of ice time. While he hasn't lived up to his offensive expectations so far this season, fantasy owners shouldn't completely give up on him yet.
Jason Garrison continues to struggle | 02/21/2013 11:41 AM
NewsJason Garrison continues to struggle with the Vancouver Canucks.
ImpactGarrison was expected to be part of the Canucks first defensive pairing and first power play with Alexander Edler but he has not been on the top power play unit for the last five games and it has been 10 games since he has been paired with Edler as he is now on the third pairing alongside Keith Ballard. He signed a six-year/$27.6 million deal with Vancouver in the off-season and while no one expected him to score 16 goals like he did last season, everyone expected more than a goal and an assist in 15 games. One good thing is that he is a plus-six this season. Expect Garrison to break loose as he has too much offensive talent to continue not scoring.
Jason Garrison likely on first power play | 01/14/2013 12:54 PM
NewsLook for Jason Garrison to play the point on the first power play alongside Alex Edler.
ImpactGarrison signed as a UFA with the Canucks after scoring 16 goals for Florida last season, third best among defensemen. With Edler setting him up on the point, look for Garrison to have another great offensive season for his fantasy owners.
Jason Garrison is eager to get started | 01/08/2013 7:27 PM
NewsJason Garrison is eager to make his Vancouver debut now that lockout is over.
Impact"I am extremely excited that it worked out finally and we are able to get back on the ice," Garrison said Monday. "Obviously, for me it's going to be a lot of fun." He signed a six-year, $27.6 million deal with the Canucks in the summer after notching 16 goals and 33 points in 77 games with Florida in 2011-12. "I like to think of myself as a two-way player," he said. "I'm physical, can shoot the puck, but I think it's about working out of your own end first, working hard in your own end, getting pucks up and being first on pucks and wearing them down and then letting that go and starting on the offense. This team is super offensive, so it's going to be a little different for me."
