Maybe in my younger days I would've let something like that stick with me a little. Now, right away, I just wanted to get back out there and play, and help. "People like that should just not bother talking. ... If we're not working our hardest, that's when people can have the right to complain and get on us, but if we go out there and play our hardest every game, I think the results will show." The Flames certainly don't look like a promising team on paper, at least not as far as the 2013-14 campaign is concerned, but anything's possible.
Galiardi thinks Flames can make the playoffs | 07/03/2013 10:08 AM
NewsNewly acquired T.J. Galiardi is looking for the Calgary Flames to surprise people next season.
ImpactCalgary have shed a number of their best players since the start of the 2013 campaign in the interest of rebuilding, including Jarome Iginla. "I went through a rebuild in Colorado and we ended up making the playoffs that first year - kind of a Cinderella story," Galiardi said, referencing the 2009-10 campaign. "I realized it's not really about what you have on paper, it's about the relationships you have as teammates and coaches. The chemistry you build throughout the year. It doesn't matter who is on the team, there is so much parity in the league and you can make a splash. I'm hoping we can do that in Calgary." Of course, the Avalanche haven't made the playoffs since, so that makes the story lose a bit of its thunder. As it is, the Flames haven't made the playoffs in their last four seasons.

I think I've kind of found my place here and I don't want to have to leave already." Galiardi had five goals and 14 points in 36 regular season games and will look to hit the 40-plus point mark if he remains on the line with Thornton and Burns.
