NewsMax Pacioretty suffered a dislocated shoulder in Game 1 that may have bothered him throughout Montreal's first-round series against Ottawa.
ImpactHe wasn't able to play in Game 2 because of the ailment and didn't look the same when he returned to the lineup for the next three contests. Pacioretty didn't record a single point in the playoffs after he led the Canadiens in scoring with 15 goals and 39 points during the regular season.

ImpactPacioretty delivered the hit just over seven minutes into the second period of the Canadiens' 3-0 win Saturday night, taking McDonagh hard into the end boards in the Rangers' zone. He was assessed a boarding minor on the play. McDonagh left the game after the hit and didn't return. Pacioretty has previously been suspended by the NHL, having received a three-game ban on Dec. 6, 2011, for a hit to the head of Pittsburgh defenseman Kris Letang.

ImpactLeafs forward Mikhail Grabovski wasn't disciplined by the league because there wasn't sufficient evidence that an actual bite occurred on the play. Pacioretty was enraged on the ice at the time and although he's still clearly annoyed by the incident he has seemingly cooled down since then. "I did wrap my hand around (Grabovski's) face," he said. "That doesn't justify biting someone, but it happened and it's over. I wouldn't have (bitten) in that situation, but I gave him a reason (in his mind) to do it." Pacioretty needs to refocus himself anyway, as he has no goals and six assists in seven games this season.
