ImpactIt was the best game of the 24-year-old's career as it was his first multi-point game in the NHL. Tropp was claimed off waivers from the Sabres on November 28 as GM Jarmo Kekalainen has always liked him. Tropp has only four assists in 20 games so he has no fantasy value.
Corey Tropp happy to be with Blue Jackets | 11/29/2013 9:13 AM
NewsCorey Tropp is happy the Columbus Blue Jackets claimed him on waivers.
ImpactTropp had been playing with the Buffalo Sabres. "They're still trying to sort things out, and there was kind of a logjam of role players," Tropp said. "They figured they'd try to sneak me down through waivers. I didn't really agree with it. I was hoping someone would take a chance on me." He sees himself as someone that can play in dirty areas and support skilled players. Given that the Blue Jackets are pretty battered right now, Tropp might get some decent minutes.

We think there is a lot of potential." The Jackets have plenty of injury issues up front, so Tropp will get a chance to step into the lineup on Friday against Edmonton.

ImpactHe is obviously looking forward to playing after missing time this season and last. "I've been watching a lot of games. It"s never easy. It"s frustrating," Tropp said. "Every guy works hard all summer to come in and set themselves up for success during the season. Right now, we're in a hole, but we still have 60-something games left. We've just got to keep pushing through". Don't expect much from Tropp from a fantasy perspective even if, as expected, he plays on a line with Steve Ott and Marcus Foligno as he
