Peverley, Chris Kelly lines remain intact | 06/12/2013 2:27 PM
NewsRich Peverley is expected to stay between Kaspars Daugavins and Tyler Seguin in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals.
CSN New England
ImpactThe trio ended Round 3 together and Chris Kelly played on the fourth line with Shawn Thornton and Daniel Paille. The changes were made after Gregory Campbell's season-ending injury in Game 3 against Pittsburgh. Boston's lineup isn't expected to change going into Wednesday night's meeting versus Chicago.
Rich Peverley continues to struggle | 05/30/2013 10:16 AM
NewsRich Peverley has one goal in 11 playoff games.
ImpactCoach Claude Julien doesn't doubt that Peverley can contribute more offensively, but it's been a struggle for him all season. He had six goals and 18 points in 47 regular-season contests and he doesn't have a point in nine straight playoff games. Peverley also opened the postseason as a healthy scratch in Game 1 versus Toronto.
Peverley's return fails to spark third line | 05/06/2013 9:34 AM
NewsRich Peverley logged 13:42 of ice time in his return to Boston's lineup Saturday night in Game 2.
ImpactThe Bruins are still waiting to get some offense out of their third line, which has been sore spot for the club all year. The thought was that Jaromir Jagr would help add some scoring punch alongside Peverley and Chris Kelly, but that is yet to happen. Jagr, Peverley, Kelly and Kaspars Daugavins, who played instead of Peverley in Game 1 against Toronto, don't have a point in Boston's first-round series.
No word if Peverley draws in for Game 2 | 05/04/2013 10:19 AM
NewsThere is no word yet as to whether Rich Peverley will draw back into the Bruin lineup for Game 2 against Toronto Saturday night.
ImpactHe was a healthy scratch for Boston's convincing 4-1 win in Game 1. That said, he was practising on the Bruins' third line during scrimmages Friday. We suspect Peverley will sit out another game but may get a chance when the series moves to Toronto.
Rich Peverley likely to be scratched Weds. | 05/01/2013 12:27 PM
NewsRich Peverley joined Kaspars Daugavins, Jaromir Jar and Chris Kelly on the third line for Wednesday's morning skate.
ImpactDaugavins took the first shift which suggests he'll play and Peverley would sit as a healthy scratch in Game 1.
Will the B's sit Rich Peverley in Game 1? | 05/01/2013 9:42 AM
NewsRich Peverley's presence on the fifth line during Tuesday's practice raised some eyebrows, but coach Claude Julien hasn't committed to his lineup yet for Wednesday night's playoff opener.
ImpactPeverley could be made a healthy scratch for Game 1, but Julien expects to get back to relying on him at some point in the series. "There's no doubt, when he looks at his stats, it's disappointing. We all know that Pevs is a better player than he's shown," Julien said. "But I think he's been getting better lately and skating a lot better than he has all year. . . . We certainly have hopes of him being a good player for us in the playoffs." He has also been a decent postseason performer in his career while picking up 19 points in 38 contests.
Rich Peverley ends scoring slump | 04/28/2013 8:55 AM
NewsRich Peverley ended his seven-game pointless slump on Saturday.
CSN New England
ImpactPeverley recorded an assist in the second period and finished the game with a plus-two rating. He also was charged with a tripping penalty in the third period, which helped most fantasy owners, but ultimately cost the Bruins the lead in their eventual 3-2 overtime loss.
Rich Peverley ends 10-game goal drought | 04/10/2013 9:50 AM
NewsRich Peverley ended a 10-game goalless slump with his fifth goal in Monday's win over Carolina.
ImpactHe also added an assist in the contest. Peverley has been disappointing offensively this campaign with just 14 points in 37 contests. The Bruins need him to step up with Patrice Bergeron sidelined and he's hoping he can build off this with 10 games remaining in the regular season.
Rich Peverley moves up into B's top six group | 04/03/2013 7:49 AM
NewsRich Peverley played between Tyler Seguin and Brad Marchand on Tuesday night.
ImpactHe moved up from the third line after Patrice Bergeron was injured in the second period. Peverley has not had a memorable season with just four goals and 12 points in 34 games. If he can stay up with Seguin and Marchand for however long Bergeron is sidelined then his fantasy value could get a boost.
Peverley's benching a message to others, too | 03/23/2013 8:44 AM
NewsRich Peverley's benching on Thursday was a move that not only sent a message to him but also other struggling Bruins.
ImpactPeverley has nine points and is a minus-nine in 28 games, but there are other Bruins in a rut, too. Milan Lucic has no goals in 14 games, Nathan Horton has one goal in 12 games and Brad Marchand has one in his last nine games. "The longer you go with that, the more it weighs on you," said coach Claude Julien. "That's a natural thing, Nathan and Looch were guys who were scoring quite a bit at the beginning; now they've been a little cool. ... I want to see them work through it. ... "I thought they worked a little harder (against the Senators). Now they've got to carry that into the next game. If they don't, they go back to square one."
Rich Peverley a healthy scratch for 1st time | 03/22/2013 8:29 AM
NewsRich Peverley was a healthy scratch Thursday for the first time as a member of the Boston Bruins.
ImpactPeverley was replaced by minor-league call-up Ryan Spooner, who was initially recalled to sub for the injured David Krejci. "I really felt that [Spooner] played well enough that he deserved another look," coach Claude Julien said. "I think it's obvious to everybody that Rich is struggling a little bit. Sometimes you've got to make those kinds of decisions, hoping that maybe it gives him the jolt he needs to get himself going." Spooner spent much of the game playing on the fourth line and neither he nor Peverley is much of a fantasy option at this point.
Rich Peverley may center 2nd line Tuesday | 03/19/2013 7:15 AM
NewsRich Peverley is being penciled in to center Boston's second line if David Krejci can't dress Tuesday night.
ImpactThat could place the versatile forward between Nathan Horton and Milan Lucic, with minor-league call-up Ryan Spooner playing on the third line with Jay Pandolfo and Jordan Caron.
Boston looks for consistency from third line | 02/19/2013 8:37 AM
NewsRich Peverley has notched just two goals and three assists in 13 games this season.
ImpactThe Bruins have been able to count on their third line for offense in the past, but this season has been a struggle for them. Chris Kelly has no goals and four assists on the year, while Chris Bourque hasn't cemented his spot with only one marker and three points over 12 appearances.
