ImpactWhite understandably missed Games 4 and 5 for that reason. Fortunately the issue has been dealt with and he might have even been able to return during the Canadiens' postseason run had they managed to avoid elimination.

ImpactWhite appeared to suffer an injury Sunday but continued to play through the ailment. White's biggest impact on the series so far has been a slash to the back of Zack Smith's legs that sparked a line brawl Sunday night. White has one goal and 23 penalty minutes in three playoff games this year.
Ryan White loses composure Sunday night | 05/06/2013 10:34 AM
NewsRyan White, who was fine to continue playing Sunday after it looked like he may have suffered an injury, helped begin a chippy third period against Ottawa.
ImpactHis slash to the back of Zack Smith's legs kicked off a line brawl at center ice after the Senators had taken a 4-1 lead in the contest. White, who scored in Game 2, picked up 17 minutes in penalties in Game 3 and he trails teammate by four P.K. Subban (27) for the most PIMs in the NHL playoffs going into Monday's matches.

Ryan White is slated to play in Game 1 | 05/01/2013 6:11 PM
NewsRyan White is slated to remain in Montreal's lineup Thursday night when the Canadiens open the postseason against Ottawa.
ImpactHe will center the fourth line between Brandon Prust and Travis Moen. The trio will obviously be counted on to bring some physical play to the table and to help keep Senators forward Chris Neil from running wild. White will play instead of Jeff Halpern.

NewsRyan White played on Saturday after completing his five-game suspension.
ImpactWhite was being punished for his illegal hit to the head of Philadelphia's Kent Huskins. White finished the season with a goal and 67 penalty minutes in 26 games.

Ryan White gets 5-game ban for illegal check | 04/17/2013 3:37 PM
NewsRyan White has been suspended five games for his illegal check to the head of Philadelphia's Kent Huskins.
ImpactThe incident occurred Monday night and it earned White a match penalty. White has played recklessly this season, but he doesn't have a history of suspensions. In 25 games, he has compiled 48 hits and 67 penalty minutes. He will be eligible to return for Montreal's final regular season match against Toronto on April 27th.
White will have in-person hearing Wednesday | 04/16/2013 2:35 PM
NewsRyan White is scheduled to have an in-person disciplinary hearing with the league in New York City on Wednesday morning.
Renaud Lavoie on Twitter
ImpactWhite is likely facing a major suspension for a hit on Flyers defenseman Kent Huskins. An in-person meeting means the NHL could hand out a suspension exceeding six games for White, who has a history of undisciplined play. We'll update you as soon as we hear the league's decision, but it doesn't sound good for White.
Ryan White may hear from league for headshot | 04/16/2013 8:13 AM
NewsRyan White received 15 minutes in penalties Monday night against Philadelphia and he'll probably hear from the league for his hit on Flyers defender Kent Huskins.
ImpactHe was assessed a major for the headshot, a major for fighting Kurtis Foster, and a match penalty on the play. White had been a healthy scratch for the past three games entering Monday's contest and he's undisciplined play has landed him in coach Michel Therrien's doghouse this season before. It would be surprising to see him play much for the rest of the year even if he isn't suspended.

NewsRyan White returned to action on Thursday April 4.
Montreal's Ryan White out Saturday with LBI | 03/22/2013 2:29 PM
NewsRyan White won't play Saturday because of a lower-body injury.
ImpactWhite was a useful source of penalty minutes early in the season, but he had to cut that part out of his game to remain the lineup so he has no fantasy value.
No PIMs for Ryan White in return to lineup | 02/19/2013 9:20 AM
NewsRyan White got back into Montreal's lineup Monday night for the first time since Feb. 7.
ImpactHe was relegated to coach Michel Therrien's doghouse due to his undisciplined play, but he logged nearly 10 minutes of penalty-free hockey against Carolina in his return to action. White has amassed 46 minutes in the sin bin in just eight games this year, but he kept himself under control on Monday night.
Ryan White not expected to play Saturday | 02/09/2013 11:50 AM
NewsRyan White is not expected to play Saturday night against Toronto.
ImpactHe will likely be a healthy scratch after taking a number of foolish penalties. White plays on the edge and is a great source for penalty minutes when he plays. But the Canadiens are trying to reign him in a little. That's good and bad for White's fantasy owners. Good, because he may get on the ice again. Bad, because he is less likely to be a valuable source for PIMs.
Ryan White takes 'unacceptable' penalty | 02/08/2013 10:48 AM
NewsRyan White will likely find himself back in the press box in the near future.
ImpactHe took a double minor (two roughing minors, one for failing to goad Steve Ott into a fight) in the third period with the Habs up 4-2 that fueled Buffalo's eventual 5-4 comeback win in the shootout. The Sabres scored 25 seconds into it. "It was unacceptable," said head coach Michel Therrien. "That's the third time he has cost us with undisciplined play." From White: "Obviously, it was a selfish play. I thought he went kind of low on me and that's what he does. He's a smart player and I reacted in the wrong way. I cost my teammates another two points." White has played in seven games, and he has a goal and 46 penalty minutes.
Ryan White was healthy scratch on Saturday | 02/03/2013 10:05 AM
NewsRyan White was a healthy scratch in the Montreal Canadiens' 6-1 win over the Sabres Saturday.
ImpactWith P.K. Subban back in the lineup, coach Therrien opted to go with 11 forwards and seven defensemen in the lineup. The fourth-line forward has amassed 42 penalty minutes this season but his lack of discipline has been a problem for the team.
Ryan White penalties cost Canadiens dearly | 01/31/2013 11:50 AM
NewsRyan White's double minor in the second period resulted in Ottawa scoring a pair of power-play goals to blow the game wide open.
ImpactHe was given a minor for roughing and another two minutes for unsportsmanlike conduct. "I was complaining," said White. "I thought he was holding my stick along the boards, but I have to learn to shut up and just go to the box." The two goals the Senators scored gave them a 3-1 lead en route to a 5-1 victory. White finished the contest with nine penalty minutes to give him a league-leading 42 on the year. His teammate, Brandon Prust, is next in line with 41 PIMs.
Ryan White scores first goal this season | 01/28/2013 12:30 PM
NewsRyan White chipped in his first goal of the season in Sunday's 4-3 overtime win over New Jersey.
ImpactThe fourth-line forward has amassed 33 penalty minutes this season to place himself second in the league in that category. However, that total was inflated when he was assessed 27 minutes in the sin bin for jumping Florida's Tomas Fleischmann following a boarding play on defenseman Josh Gorges.
