Assets:	Has sound instincts for the game and two-way ability. Can play either center or wing with equal effectiveness. Is a very cerebral player in all three zones.
Flaws:	Lacks ideal NHL size, so he must continue to prove he can withstand the constant pounding of the game at the highest level. Isn't a natural goal-scorer.

Cory Emmerton will draw back into Detroit's lineup Wednesday night when they open the second round of the playoffs against Chicago.

He suited up in the Red Wings' first six games in Round 1 versus Anaheim, but was a healthy scratch in Game 7. He will replace injured forward Mikael Samuelsson in the lineup and will center the fourth line his return.
