Devin Setoguchi scored his first postseason goal Friday night since he potted seven during the 2011 Stanley Cup playoffs with San Jose.

Setoguchi is one of the hottest goal scorers in the NHL at this time with eight goals in his last 11 games and credits Cullen's passing ability and the two really clicking well together for their success. Minnesota Wild coach Mike Yeo credited Devin Setoguchi's physical play for his recent success but the sharpshooting winger disagrees and says confidence has been the key.
"I think 98 percent of the game is mental," he said. "In between the ears is the biggest thing. Playing the right way, believing in yourself, having confidence with the puck, that's the most important thing." Setoguchi was hit by a car in the summer of 2011, which prevented him from much of his offseason conditioning work before joining the Wild. Injuries limited him to 69 games last season. But he returned ready to go this fall after the lockout ended. And, after a slow start, has caught fire.

Setoguchi has a goal and four points in his last four games. This has been a particularly rough season for him, but he's looked much better as February dragged on and might be worth taking a chance on at this point.

Setoguchi is off to a pretty rough start this season. His goal tonight extends his mini-point streak to three games. However, has just five points in 13 games. Setoguchi is averaging just under 15 minutes of ice-time per game, the lowest total since his rookie season in 2007-2008.

Devin Setoguchi's first goal of the season, an overtime winner to beat the Predators, helped atone for an earlier misstep.
Setoguchi picked up a four-minute double-minor for high-sticking early in the third period, but thanks to some solid goaltending by Niklas Backstrom, the team was able to kill off the disadvantage. "Give it to our [penalty kill] and definitely Backy for holding us in there," Setoguchi said. "It's a long four minutes. It probably felt like 12 sitting in the penalty box." The important goal may be just what the doctor ordered to get the sniper back on track for the season.

Setoguchi has no goals and just 11 shots on goal in nine games this season. His time on the fourth line should be short, but he has no fantasy value in standard leagues at this time.

Devin Setoguchi is one of four players who could be a healthy scratch Monday.
Setoguchi has yet to score this season after popping 19 last year. "We went into this season counting on him to score goals and create offense for us and to use his speed and to be strong on pucks," coach Mike Yeo said. "He's not the only one. There's some other people that aren't performing probably to the level we need them to. So this is the decision we take going into [Monday's] game, and we'll be ready to make new ones again after that." Others being considered to sit are Mikael Granlund, Zenon Konopka and Darroll Powe.

Devin Setoguchi has just two points in eight games this season.
Just as troubling is Setoguchi's lack of playing time. He's averaging 14:30 minutes per game, down from an average of 17:36 minutes in 2011-12. Minnesota's offense has improved over the last year and it looks like Setoguchi's slid in the depth charts as a result.
