NewsPatrick Kaleta is on the mend from knee surgery and he's expected to attend training camp with the Buffalo Sabres.
ImpactHe was demoted to the minors, where he suffered a torn MCL, in November. He served a 10-game suspension for an illegal check and suited up in just five games for the Sabres in 2013-14. "Whatever happened last year happened," GM Tim Murray said. "I just expect him to come in here and act like a pro. Once we hit the ice, then I'll start evaluating him."

ImpactKaleta was reportedly going to rejoin the Sabres for practice on Monday with a very good possibility of playing on Thursday versus the New York Rangers. That potential return won't happen now and he'll have a long rehab ahead of him.
