Blake Comeau finds back of the net Thursday | 11/15/2013 9:28 AM
NewsBlake Comeau scored a goal in Columbus' 3-2 overtime loss Thursday night.
ImpactIt was just Comeau's second goal and third point in 18 games this season. At his height in 2010-11, he had 46 points in 77 games. Now he has no fantasy value in standard leagues.
Comeau doesn't miss time with ankle injury | 10/16/2013 7:44 AM

ImpactComeau sustained the ailment on Saturday. He had a shot on goal in 13:11 minutes of playing time in Columbus' 2-1 defeat on Tuesday.

NewsBlake Comeau returned to action on Tuesday October 15.
Blake Comeau (ankle) questionable for Tuesday | 10/14/2013 5:03 PM
NewsBlake Comeau is questionable to play Tuesday after he was cut along the side of his ankle on Saturday.
ImpactHe did some skating on his own Monday and traveled with the team. "Patch it up, make sure it's covered," coach Todd Richards said. "It's just making sure the cut doesn't open back up." If everything holds up then he could be in the lineup.
Comeau and Calvert on the shelf | 10/14/2013 6:03 AM
NewsBlake Comeau (ankle) and Matt Calvert (lower body) may remain out of action this week.
ImpactCalvert missed Saturday's game with his injury while Comeau played but was injured in the second period when he suffered a cut above his ankle. "I think we'll probably have some idea on Monday," coach Todd Richards said. "We'll see how these injuries go as far as their bodies calming down a little bit and we'll reassess." Just an FYI in case either player was on your roster.

Blake Comeau to be a bottom-six forward | 09/23/2013 7:36 AM
NewsBlake Comeau is looking to make the NHL playoffs for the first time in his career in 2013-14 and will try to do so as a bottom-six forward.
ImpactComeau has spent parts of seven seasons in the NHL with his best season coming in 2010-11 when he had 24 goals and 22 assists. But he struggled shortly after that and is now a bottom-six forward who can put the puck in the net on occasion. Playing with the Islanders and then Calgary was not a good way to play in the post-season and he is now hoping the Blue Jackets are able to take the next step and make the playoffs. "He can really shoot the puck," coach Todd Richards said. "There is an offensive side to him, but the thing that I like is that you watch him go into the corners and he goes in like (Jared) Boll does, like (Derek MacKenzie) does. I'm not saying (the fourth line) is where he's going to be, but wherever you have that in your lineup, that's a great thing to have." He is not worth selecting in fantasy pools.
Jackets re-sign Blake Comeau to one-year deal | 07/02/2013 5:10 PM
NewsColumbus Blue Jackets re-sign Blake Comeau to one-year contract.
ImpactThe Jackets acquired Comeau from the Flames in a trade-deadline deal. Between both clubs, Comeau finished the year with six goals and 12 points in 42 combined games. The 27-year old is a former second-round pick of the New York Islanders.
Blake Comeau could see expanded role | 04/20/2013 8:51 AM
NewsBlake Comeau could find himself with an expanded role now that Matt Calvert has gone down with a broken finger.
ImpactComeau is the most likely candidate to replace Calvert on a line with Brandon Dubinsky and Cam Atkinson and given that the former Flame has scored in back-to-back games despite limited ice time, we like his chances of succeeding in this role.
Blake Comeau has two goals in two games | 04/18/2013 9:56 AM
NewsBlake Comeau scored a goal on Wednesday.
ImpactComeau has now found the back of the net in two straight games. Since being acquired by the Calgary Flames, Comeau has averaged just 9:01 minutes per contest, so we can't recommend taking a chance on him even given his recent success.
Blake Comeau dealt to the Blue Jackets | 04/03/2013 3:01 PM
NewsThe Calgary Flames have traded Blake Comeau to the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Joe Yerdon on Twitter
ImpactColumbus will give up a fifth round pick to the Flames. Comeau had one good season with the Islanders in 2010-11 when he potted 24 goals but has done little since as he has four goals and seven points in 33 games this season.
Blake Comeau getting confidence back | 03/18/2013 6:06 AM
NewsBlake Comeau has been getting his confidence back of late after struggling the last two seasons trying to find the back of the net.
ImpactComeau has scored seven times in his last 98 games over the past two seasons after scoring a career high 24 goals during 2010-11 for the Islanders. He is currently playing alongside Jiri Hudler and Mikael Backlund and has scored in each of his last two games. "I don't think I'm a different player than I was a couple years ago in New York," Comeau said. "I just think maybe the confidence got lost a little along the way. But it's slowly starting to come back. I just have to keep rolling with it."
Blake Comeau scores Wednesday | 03/14/2013 8:35 AM
NewsBlake Comeau netted a goal in Wednesday's 5-2 win over Detroit.
ImpactComeau ended a lengthy goal scoring slump on March 6 and he didn't have to wait long before finding the back of the net again. It looks like he's put his slump behind him, but that's only noteworthy news in particularly deep leagues.
Blake Comeau scores his first goal of 2013 | 03/07/2013 8:47 AM
NewsBlake Comeau netted his first goal of the season on Wednesday.
ImpactIt proved to be the game-winner in Calgary's 4-1 victory over San Jose. "I feel that no one puts more pressure on themselves than I do," Comeau said following the contest. "It was a good feeling to get on the board. Maybe I'll be able to sleep a little bit better tonight." Comeau has three points in 20 games this season. He has regressed since scoring 24 goals and 46 points in 77 contests in 2010-11, but he was averaging 18:41 minutes that season. He's logging just 10:51 minutes per game in 2013 and unless that changes, he won't have any fantasy value.
Blake Comeau to skate on top line Sunday | 02/17/2013 11:39 AM
NewsBlake Comeau is expected to line up at centre between Jarome Iginla and Curtis Glencross for Sunday's game against Dallas.
ImpactComeau has registered only one assist in 11 games this season, but he'll be given the chance to change that with this opportunity."I'm excited for the challenge," he said. "I don't think I'm that bad of a player where I think it's outrageous that I'm playing centre with Jarome and Glennie. I didn't think of it as a joke at all. I'm not just happy about being on the line. I want to make an impact, and I want to stay there."
