|Assets:||Has speed to burn. Can put up points in bunches and is ultra aggressive on the forecheck. Also boasts a nose for the net. Can play on either side of center, which adds to his overall value.|
|Flaws:||Concussions are still a concern with him, especially since he has a bad habit of keeping his head down in dangerous areas of the ice. Isn't a natural setup man. Lacks game-to-game consistency.|
|Career Potential:||Speedy, streaky scoring winger.|

Canucks could buy out Booth and/or Ballard | 05/13/2013 5:44 PM
NewsDavid Booth may be candidate for a buyout this off-season.
ImpactHe has been hampered by injuries since joining the Vancouver Canucks from Florida and carries a $4.25 million cap hit for the next two seasons. Vancouver GM Mike Gillis said there will be changes after the team's troubling end to the 2013 campaign. It wouldn't be surprising if Booth and/or Keith Ballard may be removed from the team's roster.
David Booth done for the year after surgery | 03/22/2013 2:51 PM
NewsDavid Booth will miss the rest of the regular season following surgery on his injured ankle.
Jason Botchford on Twitter
ImpactHe may return during the playoffs but that will probably depend how far the Canucks can advance and if his recover goes well. Booth has been limited to 12 games this season, where he generated only one goal and three points.

NewsDavid Booth (ankle) has been placed on injured reserve.
ImpactBooth had an MRI Monday but the results were not revealed. He is out indefinitely and can be released in pools as he only had three points in 12 games before the ankle injury.

ImpactBooth was seen leaving Saturday's game in crutches after sustaining the injury in the first period of Vancouver's 5-2 loss to Detroit. Consider him out indefinitely until further details are revealed.
David Booth gets his second assist of 2013 | 03/11/2013 10:11 AM
NewsDavid Booth registered his second assist of the season.
ImpactBooth is still searching for his first goal after playing in nine games. He's only averaging 13:24 minutes per game and almost none of that ice time is with the man advantage. That's a big part of the reason we can't recommend him in standard leagues.
Alain Vigneault fine with play of David Booth | 03/09/2013 7:51 AM
NewsDespite having not scored a goal yet this season, Canucks coach Alain Vigneault is satisfied with the play of David Booth.
ImpactBooth has suited up in eight games since returning from injury in February and has yet to find the back of the net despite firing 20 shots on goals. Coach Vigneault identified both he and the struggling Zack Kassian as players who have suffered through bad luck of late, saying "I'm looking at Zack's game right now, and David Booth's, and they're doing everything they can possibly do to help us on the score sheet. They're not getting any breaks right now. So, what we have to do as a group, as a coaching staff, is stay supportive." Once Booth breaks his drought we like his chances of beginning a hot streak.

ImpactBooth was sidelined for Sunday's contest. He had two shots on goal in 12:56 minutes of playing time.

David Booth set to return Tuesday vs. PHO | 02/26/2013 2:53 PM
NewsDavid Booth (illness) appears set to make his return to the lineup Tuesday night against the Phoenix Coyotes.
Jim Jamieson on Twitter
ImpactBooth has played in only three games this season due to illness and a groin injury. He's expected to take Aaron Volpatti's place in the lineup. His lack of playing time thus far and limited point value makes him a frustrating player to own, but hopefully he'll be able to stay in the lineup for longer than a week this time around.
David Booth skates on Monday | 02/26/2013 12:42 PM
NewsDavid Booth (illness) skated on Monday.
ImpactBooth could return as early as Tuesday to the lineup but will likely be a game time decision. He has only played in three games this season as he suffered a groin injury on the opening day of training camp.
David Booth out sick on Sunday | 02/24/2013 5:51 PM
NewsVancouver Canucks winger David Booth will miss yet another game, but the good news is that it's because he's sick, not injured.
Dan Murphy on Twitter
ImpactHe's barely been action this season and he's already missing more. That's very frustrating for those who went out on a limb to draft him, but at least he just has some sort of sickness.
David Booth moves up to third line | 02/21/2013 11:55 AM
NewsDavid Booth spent practice on Wednesday on the third line with Mason Raymond and Jordan Schoeder.
ImpactBooth played his first game of the season on Tuesday on the fourth line and it was thought he would move up the depth chart. Look for him to eventually get second line minutes for the Canucks. He is worth a shot in deeper leagues, especially if he sees power play time.
Canucks defend Jannik Hanssen's hit on Hossa | 02/20/2013 1:57 PM
NewsVancouver head coach Alain Vigneault says he saw nothing wrong with Jannik Hanssen's hit to the head of Chicago's Marion Hossa, suggesting the officials got bullied into a penalty by Chicago captain Jonathan Toews.
ImpactUnfortunately for the Hawks, Hossa's game was stopped 70 seconds into the third when Jannik Hansen seemed to inadvertently hit him from behind on a play that started with the Dane and Hossa going for the puck. It was chilling to see Hossa lying on the ice in the aftermath, motionless with an apparent head injury. Instantly you think back to what ended his playoffs last season when a cheap, vicious Raffi Torres head shot forced Hossa out of the game on a stretcher. The NHL will hold a hearing with Hanssen today. "It wasn't even a penalty," Vancouver coach Alain Vigneault said. "Both the referees looked at the play, and until (Chicago captain Jonathan) Toews went out to talk to them it wasn't a penalty." What about supplementary discipline for Hansen? "Not a chance," Vigneault said. "He was trying to grab a puck in the air." Canucks forward David Booth said: "For my perspective, there was zero intent to injure there."
David Booth set to make return Tuesday | 02/19/2013 3:16 PM
NewsDavid Booth (groin) will make his return to the lineup Tuesday night and skate on the fourth line.
Jason Botchford on Twitter
ImpactBooth has been sidelined since the first day of training camp. He'll start tonight's game on the fourth line, but it probably won't be long before he moves up to play on more of a scoring line.
David Booth medically cleared to play | 02/19/2013 12:46 PM
NewsDavid Booth (groin) has been medically cleared to play.
ImpactBooth has been out of action since the first day of training camp. It is possible that he could be reinstated in time for tonight's game against Chicago and if he is, he will see fourth line duty. "I know if I need him to play, I can use him," Coach Alain Vigneault said. "We'll make that call Tuesday. He's practiced enough and if it's his call, he would want to be in." Stay tuned.
David Booth skates hard at practice | 02/12/2013 12:31 PM
NewsDavid Booth (groin) skated hard at practice Monday.
ImpactBooth has been out since the first day of training camp and there is still no timetable for his return although to be skating hard has to be a good sign. Consider him day-to-day for now.
David Booth not likely to return to ice soon | 02/10/2013 8:55 AM
NewsWhile the exact timeframes are uncertain, winger David Booth expects that Ryan Kesler will return to action before he does.
ImpactBooth continues to rehab a groin injury he suffered prior to the season while undergoing the team's fitness test. He's an integral part of the Canucks' secondary scoring presence and will likely find himself paired with Kesler once each of the team return to full participation.
David Booth skates on Sunday | 02/04/2013 12:50 PM
NewsDavid Booth (groin) skated before practice on Sunday.
ImpactHe did not stay on the ice when the regulars showed up for practice and coach Alain Vigneault said there were no new updates on Booth. Booth was supposed to be out four-six weeks with the strained groin and that would mean a return in mid-late February if he is on target.
| 01/19/2013 9:00 PM
NewsDavid Booth returned to action on Friday January 18.
David Booth out 4-6 weeks with strained groin | 01/15/2013 5:23 PM
NewsDavid Booth will miss four to six weeks with a strained groin.
Canucks on Twitter
ImpactBooth apparently injured himself during the pre-camp physicals. The month-plus timeline is an absolute killer in this shortened season and it's possible we won't see Booth back in action until the middle of March. While originally thought he could reach 30 points in 48 games, that projection takes a drastic hit given the injury. Owners should back away from Booth in almost all formats at this point. Expect Jordan Schroeder and Andrew Ebbett to get a crack at replacing Booth on the Canucks' second line.
David Booth will have MRI on groin | 01/14/2013 6:28 PM
NewsDavid Booth will have an MRI on his strained groin.
ImpactHe suffered the ailment in the past few days and the MRI should determine his status for the start of the season. Booth registered 16 goals and 30 points in 62 games last year for the Canucks.
