ImpactMcKenna was called up as an insurance policy because Sergei Bobrovsky is still dealing with the flu. If Bobrovsky isn't available on Friday, then McKenna will serve as the team's backup goaltender.

McKenna turned aside 17 of 18 shots in 40 minutes to preserve Columbus' lead against the New York Rangers. "He was fantastic," Blue Jackets forward Ryan Johansen said of McKenna. "I don't know the exact number of games he's played in the NHL, but I know playing in Madison Square Garden isn't an easy task. For him to step in like that and do the job he did was very impressive. I'm proud of him." For the record, this was McKenna's 18th career NHL game.
