Lundqvist put up less than ideal numbers early this season, but he has bounced back with two straight one-goal games.

The good news for him is that New York still looks uncharacteristically disoriented at times on defense, and that should be rectified soon as well.

Rangers coach John Tortorella seemed to downplay his decision to yank Henrik Lundqvist in Sunday's 6-3 loss to the Penguins.
"I was not going to keep him in there, not with what was going on in front of him," Tortorella said. Rangers captain Ryan Callahan echoed Tortorella's remarks by suggested that the benching of Lundqvist was to "give him a break." "That might be tough," said Lundqvist, who enters the shortened season with a streak of seven straight 30-win campaigns. "Not impossible. But not likely." He isn't sure how many games he will start in this year and he would've preferred to have some preseason tuneups, but he is happy that the work stoppage is over and that he can get back to playing. Lundqvist should be the first goalie on everyone's draft list.

He has spent the vast majority of the lockout in Sweden, spending time with family and friends, but he feels it's time to return to New York to see if there will be a 2012-13 NHL season. Lundqvist tweeted: "But now It's time to make a move. Time to return to NYC and hopefully I'm coming back for the right reason like I said."
