Aaron Johnson has to stick around with Boston | 02/13/2013 10:49 AM
NewsAaron Johnson went to Providence on Monday for a conditioning stint, but found out that he was not allowed a second rehab assignment later in the day.
ImpactHe had already gone down at the start of the season, so he'll have to wait for his next opportunity to play in Boston's lineup. "It's not too bad. It's a great group of guys, we're doing a lot of drills in game situations with (assistant coach Doug Houda)," said Johnson. "This is all part of my situation and it's all kind of what I signed up for and I'm ready to do whatever it takes. If it means waiting a month until I get to play, it's OK. It's just up to me to stay ready." He has a one-year, two-way deal with the Bruins and would have to clear waivers to be sent down to AHL Providence.

NewsAaron Johnson has played well the past two games while filling for Adam McQuaid.
ImpactMcQuaid will be available to play against Buffalo Thursday after he missed games on Monday and Tuesday due to the passing of his grandmother. Aaron Johnson must prove himself quickly | 01/11/2013 10:32 AM
NewsAaron Johnson doesn't have a lot of time to make his case for an opening night roster spot.
ImpactThe journeyman defenseman signed a two-way contract with the Bruins this offseason, and he didn't play abroad, so he's coming in a bit cold. Even with Adam McQuaid's status uncertain after October surgery to remove a blood clot, the Bruins have other prospects who could make the club. I'm just trying to take it day-by-day. I did a good job of skating as much as possible in Dallas," said Johnson. "You just prepare as best as you can and hopefully go out and have a good camp."
