|Assets:||Has a proven track record at the junior and minor-pro levels. Has sound fundamentals. Is capable of coming off the bench cold and doing a solid job.|
|Flaws:||Is still a little thin for his big frame, so he could stand to bulk up a bit in order to better his chances at backup duty. Doesn't stand out in any one area.|
|Career Potential:||Depth goaltender.|

ImpactMacIntyre had a 2.53 GAA and .917 save percentage in 48 AHL contests in 2013-14. The 31-year-old will start the season in the minors, but he's a legitimate option to be called up in the event of an injury.
Drew MacIntyre might be in line for NHL duty | 06/05/2014 3:30 PM
NewsDrew MacIntyre can become an unrestricted free agent on July 1.
ImpactIf he stays with the Leafs' organization and the team trades James Reimer then he could be an NHL backup next season. There's a chance that he may look for a more guaranteed job elsewhere. The 30-year-old journeyman has started just one NHL game in his career, but he's been excellent with the Marlies in the AHL for the past three seasons.

NewsDrew MacIntrye continued his white hot play in the AHL playoffs stopping 49 of 50 shots in the Marlies' 5-1 win over the Texas Stars Friday night.
ImpactIt was the first game of the AHL's Western Conference finals and MacIntyre stood on his head to give the Marlies the victory and a 1-0 series lead over the regular season champions. Although he is hardly a prospect at the age of 30, MacIntyre could find himself in the NHL backing up Jonthan Bernier next season should the Maple Leafs trade James Reimer.

NewsDrew MacIntyre stopped all 29 shots to lead the Toronto Marlies to a 2-0 win over Milwaukee and sweep the best-of-five series.
ImpactMacIntyre gave up only four goals in the series and had a .955 save percentage as the 30-year-old led the Marlies into Round 2. MacIntyre could be the backup with the Maple Leafs next season as James Reimer could be moved out, but if Reimer remains, or if the Leafs decide on a more experienced NHL backup, then MacIntyre will likely return to the Marlies and provide a veteran presence in goal.

NewsDrew MacIntyre could get his first NHL start Thursday.
ImpactThe Leafs have been eliminated from postseason play, so letting the journeyman goaltender have his moment in the sun would be a good gesture. "It doesn't matter when or where it is, you want to get that chance to start," said the 30-year-old netminder on Wednesday. "We will see. I hope it happens." James Reimer would also like to see MacIntyre get a chance to play.

NewsDrew MacIntyre may make his NHL debut on Wednesday night.
ImpactToronto coach Randy Carlyle didn't give a glowing assessment of James Reimer's performance in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to Detroit. "I thought he was okay, you know," Carlyle said. "Just okay." MacIntyre is up with the Leafs because of Jonathan Bernier's groin injury and he's been excellent in the AHL this campaign.
