ImpactWith the injury to James Neal, Evgeni Malkin was looking for a right winger and Kobasew had five games to prove himself, which he didn't. After scoring in his first two games and getting a lot of poolies excited, Kobasew has done little since and should not be in your fantasy lineup.

Pens injuries might lead to Kobasew signing | 09/28/2013 8:28 PM
NewsThe Penguins would like to sign Chuck Kobasew, and injuries could open the door for that to happen.
ImpactKris Letang is dealing with a lower body injury and Tomas Vokoun had a blood clot, and each are going to be sidelined indefinitely. If the Penguins put one or both of them on long-term injured reserve, it would free up cap space for Kobasew to be signed. The veteran is in camp on a tryout, and he must make at least $550,000. He'd give them some forward depth, which would prove to be valuable if Matt D'Agostini isn't quite ready to go.

It's the best league in the world." He has reached the 20-goal mark three times in his career, but the past three seasons he hasn't been able to hit 10. Kobasew is eligible to become an unrestricted free agent this summer.
