NewsPatrick Sharp had five goals and six points in Chicago's five-game first-round series.
Impact"It's always nice to score, especially in a win," Sharp said. "I feel like I got better as the series went on as far as making plays with the puck and kind of raising my level away from the puck. Goals are going to come when you least expect them. They seem to be going in right now so hopefully I can ride that as long as I can." Sharp's 2013 season wasn't necessarily bad, but he didn't find the back of the net nearly as often as we've become accustomed to. It looks like he's shaken that off for the playoffs though and that's providing the Blackhawks with a big boost.

Report:Patrick Sharp might be out for a month | 03/08/2013 11:59 AM
NewsPatrick Sharp reportedly has a "fairly severe AC joint shoulder separation."
James Duthie on Twitter
ImpactSharp was initially projected to miss two-to-three weeks, but it looks like it could be closer to three week to a month. Missing Sharp would be a serious blow, but the good news is that Chicago has built such a lead over the rest of the Western Conference, that it's almost moot from their long-term perspective. As long as Sharp is 100% by the time the playoffs start, Chicago shouldn't be too worse off. Still, this is a body blow to many fantasy teams.

Patrick Sharp breaks goal-scoring slump | 02/17/2013 7:23 PM
NewsPatrick Sharp scored his first goal since Jan. 24 as the Chicago Blackhawks slipped by the Los Angeles Kings 3-2 on Sunday.
ImpactIt ended up being the game-winner, too. The slump was pretty arbitrary in the first place because he's been productive (13 points in 15 games), but it's likely he's relieved not to field questions about it anymore. With 40 SOG, it's likely he'll start scoring more goals. Brent Seabrook had an eventful game on Sunday, too, taking a puck to an uncomfortable place but shaking it off to get a goal and an assist.
Sharp isn't bothered by lack of goals | 02/15/2013 10:34 AM
NewsPatrick Sharp isn't bothered by the fact that he hasn't scored a goal in nine games.
Impact"It doesn't matter," Sharp said. "I'm still producing offensively at the same clip as I normally do. It's just Kane is doing the scoring and I'm getting the assists instead of the other way around. And the team is winning. If we were losing it would be a different story." Sharp is absolutely right. While some fantasy owners might be missing his goal scoring production, it's hard to complain about a player that has 12 points in 13 games. We think he'll start to score more as the season progresses, but as long as he keeps collecting assists, it's nothing to panic over.
Patrick Sharp adds another assist Tuesday | 02/13/2013 9:43 AM
NewsPatrick Sharp had an assist on Tuesday.
ImpactSharp hasn't found the back of the net since Jan. 24, but fantasy owners should be comforted by his contributions in other areas. He has registered 10 assists, giving him 12 points in 13 games this season. He's likely to start scoring goals in the not too distant future, but we don't expect his point-per-game pace to improve.
Patrick Sharp not worrying about goal dearth | 02/09/2013 4:50 AM
NewsChicago left winger Patrick Sharp hasn't scored a goal in seven games.
ImpactSaid Sharp: "I've been in situations like this before. I'm going to remain confident and keep shooting the puck. I'll get open, and hopefully one goes in." No goals since Jan. 24 against the Stars doesn't mean Sharp hasn't been effective in the offense. The veteran has five assists during the span, with three coming against the Coyotes - including a terrific cross-ice pass to Patrick Kane. "I told (Kane) on the bench that's the first time he ever came to me after a goal and said, 'Nice pass,' " Sharp said. "Usually, it's the other way around."
Patrick Sharp gets three assists Thursday | 02/08/2013 10:26 AM
NewsPatrick Sharp recorded three assists on Thursday.
ImpactSharp has been a reliable goal scorer for years, but this season he's contributing in different ways. He has two goals and 11 points in 11 games this season. In the long run he should find the back of the net with more regularity, but either way he's a top player.
Patrick Sharp gets 3 points in Hawks' OT win | 01/25/2013 12:16 AM
NewsPatrick Sharp scored a goal and added two assists in the Chicago Blackhawks' 3-2 overtime victory over the Stars in Dallas Thursday night.
ImpactMarian Hossa scored the game-winning goal -- his fifth of the early season -- for the 4-0 Hawks on a power play in overtime. All three of Chicago's goals were scored on power plays. Sharp notched his second goal of the season as did Chicago captain Jonathan Toews. Patrick Kane picked up two assists for the winners. The Hawks trailed the Stars 2-0 until Sharp's goal at 15:57 of the second period.
Sharp needs to shake off rust quickly | 01/09/2013 11:17 AM
NewsPatrick Sharp will have to adjust quickly after opting not to sign in Europe or elsewhere during the lockout.
Impact"It's going to be tough that there's no preseason games," Sharp said. "(It's) whoever can adjust the quickest and get off to a great start ... But once you get into the swing of things it's business as usual." Sharp is usually a reliable scorer, but he's one of the players should should feel a tad uncomfortable with going into the season. He should adjust quickly, but we wouldn't be surprised if he gets off to a cold start.
