NewsJamie Langenbrunner is hoping that the Minnesota Wild will be interested in his services.
Duluth News Tribune
ImpactLangenbrunner is an unrestricted free agent and looking to bounce back after missing most of the 2013 campaign due to a torn labrum in his left hip. "I've been pushing my (agent) to do some talking (to the Wild) for me," said Langenbrunner. "That would, obviously, be the ideal situation from a family standpoint. I understand what they are trying to do (with recent personnel moves) and who knows what their choice will be, but I would welcome an opportunity to play there." Either way, Langenbrunner doesn't want to retire yet and would be interested in signing with other teams.

NewsJamie Langenbrunner hopes to play next season, but it doesn't look like it will be with the St. Louis Blues.
Impact"I don't think I'm in their plans," said Langenbrunner. The Blues won't offer him a contract, but they haven't closed the door on sending a PTO his way. He appeared in just four games this past season and underwent season-ending hip surgery in mid-February. Langenbrunner said he is feeling much better now though.

NewsThe Blues announced that Jamie Langenbrunner underwent successful hip surgery Friday.

ImpactIt's not clear when Langenbrunner suffered the injury. He didn't dress Saturday night and wasn't at the morning skate. The 37-year old had one assist in just four games this season and his playing days were likely numbered before this injury. Safe to say, if you were still holding out hope he'd rediscover his form, it's time to cut bait.

ImpactThe long-named player has only appeared in one game this season, contributing nothing but 9:35 of ice time on Jan. 22 against the Chicago Blackhawks. His fantasy relevance is revealed in how many times he's been a healthy scratch this season, but the 37-year-old deserves credit for at least having a nice career overall.
