NewsFrancis Bouillon is eligible for unrestricted free agency on July 1.

ImpactThe 38-year-old defenseman said he isn't ready to retire yet, so he'll probably be looking for employment elsewhere in a couple of months. Bouillon skated in 52 games with the Canadiens during the regular season and he appeared in nine playoff matches.

NewsFrancis Bouillon found the back of the net during Montreal's 3-2 overtime loss to the New York Rangers in Game 4.
ImpactHe was appearing in his first contest since Game 2 against Boston. The goal was his second of the postseason and it could keep him in the lineup for Game 5 on Tuesday night. Bouillon finished the match with 12:23 of ice time.

ImpactThe Canadiens took a 1-0 lead in the series even though it wasn't Bouillon's tally that held up as the game winner. He scored at the 12:09 mark of the third period, but the Bruins fought back to tie the game in the final two minutes of regulation. The undersized, tenacious blueliner has five hits, five blocks and a plus-6 rating in five playoff contests.

ImpactBouillon is not exactly known for his goal-scoring prowess, as this tally was just his second of the campaign. In his career he has notched just 32 markers despite having suited up for 775 career games. Dale Weise also scored a goal for Montreal in the defeat.

ImpactThe 37-year-old has instead played his 500th game with the Habs, and he'll play his 700th sometime next week. It's been a career full of overcoming adversity for the defenseman, who has had knee surgery, a groin injury and a concussion. Oh yeah, and he was never drafted in junior, either. "I was really worried during the lockout," he said this week. "I have a one-year contract and I thought that if they cancelled the season, I wouldn't have an opportunity to show that I could play." Bouillion is averaging about 19 minutes a game, has four assists and a plus-six rating.
