Karl Alzner hasn't thought about the possibility of getting an offer sheet.
Alzner is scheduled to become a restricted free agent this summer. "That would be weird," Alzner said of the possibility of accepting an offer sheet. "Like I said, I don't know anything but [Washington]. It would be strange." Washington will almost certainly re-sign Alzner, but the Capitals are close to the salary cap and that might make the process a little more difficult.

Mark Stone's undisclosed injury might be a high-ankle sprain.
If that's true, then it would have a negative impact Stone's offseason training. He had 15 goals and 38 points in 54 AHL games this season.

There's been plenty of speculation about who Patrick Roy might select as his assistant coaches.
One possibility is Guy Carbonneau, who won the Stanley Cup twice with Roy in Montreal. Carbonneau also spent three seasons as the Canadiens' head coach and had a 124-83-23 record in that role. "I have no idea," Carbonneau said about the possibility of Roy reaching out to him. "I haven't talked to him . it's up to him. He's got control of who he wants to have around him. He's going to have his reasons like I had when I was a coach here. I knew what I wanted around me and that's what I got. I don't know what he wants."

The NHL has announced the start times for potential playoff games on Monday.
If necessary, Game 6 between the Boston Bruins and New York Rangers will be played at 7:00 p.m. ET on Monday. If needed, Game 6 of the Chicago Blackhawks and Detroit Red Wings' second-round series will also take play Monday night, but will start at 8:00 p.m. ET. The Bruins and Red Wings are both one victory away from advancing to the Conference Finals and are both scheduled to play today.

Don't be surprised if a number of Maple Leaf prospects get a long look at training camp in September.
Certainly Joe Colborne and Ryan Hamilton will be considered for Leaf roster spots in 2013-14 as they both have some NHL service time. However, Marlies Carter Ashton, Greg Scott and Jerry D'Amigo could also be ready to take the next step. Marlie coach Dallas Eakins believes that any or some cmbination of those five players could fill out spots with the big club. Stay tuned.
